A project five years in the making, with the first enquiry dating back to the pre-pandemic days of 2019. The Ambassador's Residence in Belgravia, adjacent to the main embassy building, had an original cooksuite dating back more than four decades and, with its replacement imminent, the decision was taken to upgrade the entire and adjacent areas.

Ki-Tech were contacted by Tricon Foodservice Consultants and MTA (M&E Consultants) to assess the potential suitability for implementing the Sicotronic Energy Management system. By calculating the overall kilowatt requirement and assessing which appliances can be optimised and what equipment falls into the background load (general purpose sockets, refrigeration, air conditioning etc) it is possible to provide a solution which manages the peak electrical demand and ensure that power limitations are not exceeded.

HCE Foodservice equipment were tasked with the kitchen refurbishment and features a centrepiece MKN Kuchenmeister cooksuite, complemented with Rational combination ovens and Winterhalter warewashing.

Peak demand load

Initial figures provided a total connected load of 270kW, but Ki-Tech are able to manage this with a peak load projection of 160kW; a reduction of 41%.
